Idam Porul Eval Meaning

‘Kazhugu’ was the last OST from Yuvan which can stand tall across timelines and his form in the recent times is not up to his reputation. Though he gave some 1-2 chartbuters in ‘Anjaan’ and ‘Thirudan Police’, a full fledged Yuvan’s signature OST is pending for some time now. ‘Idam Porul Yeaval’ has brought the Vintage YSR. Scroll down for our review.

Aththuvaana Kaatukku – Yuvan Shankar Raja

Yuvan welcomes us to the album with a perfect patho which reminds of his dad in terms of composition and rendering. The prelude string section with Yuvan’s humming set the mood right away and the tempo is maintained till the end with a streamlined notes. Both the interludes are magical, but the second one will pierce hardly to make a serious impact right away.

Earakkathe – Senthil Dass, Anitha

Senthil Dass and Anitha delivers a sweeping melody here. Vairamuthu’s word play is out of the world and Yuvan’s minimal orchestration paves way for the classic Tamil to take the center stage. The whistles in the prelude make a quiet comeback as the song progress one can hear the far away violin section in the second half of the song, which is a great ploy by the composer to add serene nature to the glorious melody.

Idam Porul Yaeval is a Tamil movie released on 27 November, 2015. The movie is directed by Seenu Ramasamy and featured Vijay Sethupathi, Vishnu Vishal and Aishwarya Rajesh as lead characters. Kurunthogai song Lyrics from Idam Porul Eval movie with English Translation. Music Director: Yuvan Shankar Raja Singer: Sonia,V.V.PrasannaRao.

Endha Vazhi – Vaikkom Vijayalakshmi

The album gets into one more pathos as Yuvan weaved another stellar track and made full use of Vijayalakshmi’s powerful vocals. As the track progress, the singer keeps building the ‘haunting’ quotient and her rendering is sure to leave a lump in your throat.

Kondattame – Sriram Parthasarathy

After the memorable, ‘Ananda Yazhai’ Yuvan has teamed up with the classical singer, Sriram Parthasarathy for a simple melody. Yuvan has played the second fiddle role once again to let the lyrics and singer to dominate, but that hasn’t worked here. A little bit of imagination with the sound arrangements might have made wonders, but this track might work better with the visuals.

Kurunthogai – V.V. Prasanna, Sonia

Yes, you read it right! The title of the track is – ‘Kurunthogai’ and you can guess it right away that it's going to be as beautiful as the title. Vairamuthu has stamped his brilliance once again and the singers have rendered it without making any errors. Compared to the earlier melody, this one is short, but very sweet and hummable!

Vaiyambatti – Anthony Dassan, Priyadharshini

Anthony Dawson and folk genre have become little predictable as he makes his presence in every other album. It is Priyadharshini, who overrides Anthony’s vocals and tries her best to add more foot tapping material to the song. One more song, which requires the visuals to up the tempo; nevertheless a neat end to a fulfilling OST from Yuvan after a long time.

Pick(s) of the album - Aththuvaana Kaatukku, Eerakkathe, Kurunthogai.

Verdict: Yuvan’s maiden partnership with Vairamuthu has gotten the much needed break for him.

Rating: 4/5
