| I was wondering if there is any way to deactivate studio one from the computer I'm using now and activate it on a new computer I will be getting. I have it activated on my laptop now but the cpu performance can't handle studio one and all of my other recording programs, it keeps peaking and crashing. Thanks in advance for any help. |

You have 5 activations you can use, just install and activate on another machine. If you run out of activations, just contact tech support or Jonathan to get more. |

Is Jonathon still around? I don't think I've seen a post from him in quite some time This message was edited 1 time. Last update was at 11/03/2011 18:28:43

Contact tech support then. I'm pretty sure Jonathan is still around

| As a matter of fact, I had a similar situation where I retired a 6 year old single core 3.2GHz P4 w/3GB RAM that I was using as my main machine. It will now be used for simpler things, but no longer to track with S1 Pro. I shot Jonathan an email this very morning and explained the situation of how I've built a new i870 2.93GHz Quad Core w/ HT and 8GB RAM as a replacement and within no more than 10min got a reply that he retracted my license from my older machine and gave me back my 5 licenses. Now I can start over again and license my new machine. Now that's customer service for you. Very cool. Some things I learned after reading several forum posts over the last couple of days regarding S1 activation. Each computer creates its own activation code or machine ID. That's why you can't simply copy your license off your old machine onto the new one. If you are using a multiboot system like I have created, you will have to use a separate license for a 32bit and 64bit OS even though it is on the same physical machine. In my case, I have to use 2 licenses of the 5 for Windows XP Pro 32bit and Windows 7 64bit, but that's fine since I have 3 left now that I can later use on a new laptop in the future and still have 2 to spare. Long story short, drop Jonathan an email and explain your situation. He was prompt and extremely accommodating for me today. |

I think Jonathan is just a robot. Have I understood it right that I can log in to presonus.com and delete old activations only to create new activations on my new machine, or can I not do this when all 5 activations are used up? Do we not get automatically new activations if we delete an old one in our user page? |

| Godaften Morten Yes, you just go into your 'My Presonus' and click.. say Studio one - It will show you the activations used Right below there, it should say 'Manage Activations' Just click and and remove what you like You just remove your unused to get them back Ch33rs Saga Edit: det er en gammel tråd denne her Det er blevet lavet om siden, så du selv kan fjerne gamle ubrugte 'aktiveringer'

| This is a new functionality in the 'My PreSonus' area. You used to have to contact support to deactivate licenses. That's what you get for responding to 3 year old threads |
